Position Overview
Title: Fiber Installer Technician
Location: Council Bluffs, IA
Duration: Short term but capability to be extended for long term contract
We are currently hiring motivated and dependable Fiber Installer Technicians for an immediate large-scale fiber installation project in Council Bluffs, IA. This is a short-term contract opportunity with strong potential for long-term employment based on performance, reliability, and project needs.
Shift Availability
Candidates must be available to work one of the following shifts:
* 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
* 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Scope of Work (SOW)
Technicians will support a high-volume fiber infrastructure project involving fiber patching, bundled fiber installation, and network connectivity tasks within commercial and/or data center environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform fiber patching from:
* Patch panel to patch panel
* Patch panel to device
* Device to device
* Route and organize bundled fiber cabling
* Maintain clean and organized cable management
* Follow project layouts, labeling standards, and installation procedures
* Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently
* Work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced environments
* Climb ladders and work in elevated areas as required
Qualifications
* Previous fiber optic installation experience required
* Strong understanding of fiber patching and cable management
* Ability to read and follow basic installation instructions and labeling standards
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Dependable work ethic and punctuality
* Comfortable working on ladders and in physically demanding environments
* Ability to work overnight or evening shifts consistently
Preferred Skills
* Experience working in data centers, telecom environments, or commercial low-voltage projects
* Familiarity with fiber patch panels and network devices
* Knowledge of safety procedures and structured cabling best practices
