Assistant General Manager

Assistant General Manager – Panera Bread Lead a neighborhood bakery‑cafe team, partnering with the General Manager to deliver high quality food, service and guest experience while driving business success. Responsibilities Support the General Manager with decision‑making and problem solving. Plan and manage staffing, shift scheduling, and people development. Recruit, onboard, train, and coach new team members. Monitor team performance to meet operational and quality standards. Develop managers on people processes and Panera’s Guiding Values & Behaviors. Build lasting relationships with guests and ensure outstanding service. Follow and enforce operational procedures, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Maintain a safe, clean workplace and manage costs and inventory. Contribute to a culture of warmth, belonging, growth, and trust. Qualifications Minimum age 18 years. 1+ years restaurant management experience preferred. ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain). Strong business acumen and ability to drive positive results. Excellent communication, coaching, and team‑building skills. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and varying shifts. Physical ability to lift, carry, and stand for up to 6 hours.
