Informatica Administrator Engineer

Candidate must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder eligible to work in the United States. Candidate must also be able to obtain or currently have a security clearance. Location in Rockville MD Year long contract. Occasionally have to come to the work location maybe one a month or so depending. Candidate can work remotely but need to be local enough for a meeting.

Position Description:

• Provide Informatica Production Release Support. Including disabling informatica jobs, changing source/target connections, verifying the log file; enabling informatica jobs; and monitoring jobs.
• Monitor production and test environment batch jobs (DWH & Informatica).
• Provide ETL(Oracle) Production Release Support. Upgrade MicroStrategy software version as required.
• Establish users/roles in secure systems related to MicroStrategy to access reports.
• Ensure compliance with SQL and other database standards
• Conduct interviews with user and subject matter experts to understand information needs and imbed into a logical data model.
• Review system and business requirements to accurately capture new data requirements and integrate them into the logical data model.
• Conduct data model reviews with developers, architects, business analysts and subject matter experts to collaborate and gain consensus.
• Keep the logical and physical models synchronized and understand how information translates between the two models.
• Evolve the logical data model over time and work with developers to assure it is leveraged across all application projects.
• Drive metadata documentation and make it available to those that are dependent upon it.
• Write SQL queries to database for data manipulation and reporting.
• Maintain enterprise-wide data models used by multiple applications sharing centralized reporting and production databases.
• Responsible for coordinating database changes/updates.
• Work with application teams on creating and maintaining an enterprise data dictionary which will document the use of data elements.
• Enforce data modeling standards.

Required Knowledge and Abilities:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• Experience developing logical and physical data models
• 2+ years of experience generating database objects (i.e. tables, indexes, constraints, views, materialized views) using a modeling tool.
• Solid understanding of Data Warehousing concepts
• Experience with iterative/agile development environments.
• Experience writing SQL queries.
• Thorough understanding of modeling to third normal form and the benefits of normalization.
• Experience using modeling techniques as a tool for application design and development.
• Must be familiar with working in a software development life cycle.

Desired Knowledge and Abilities:

• Experience using Informatica tools and performing ETL design
• Experience with Agile is a plus.
• Experience with a modeling tool such as Erwin Data Modeler, ER Studio, or Power Designer a plus.
