Overview Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the 2 South – Cardiac Telemetry Med Surg unit. This is a full‑time third shift position in Suffolk, VA. Compensation and Hours Sign on Bonus up to $8,000 available for qualified candidates. Hours: 7 P to 7 A with rotating weekend schedule. Unit Description The Cardiac Telemetry / Med Surg unit provides care for patients with cardiac conditions including heart failure, rhythm disturbances, implanted pacemakers and defibrillators, post‑coronary interventions, post‑ablation, myocardial infarctions, as well as pre/post catheterization, acute stroke, and post‑procedural neuro cases. The 25‑bed unit operates with a 1:6 patient‑to‑LPN ratio assisted by Patient Care Techs (average 1:8 ratio). It is a high‑acuity unit preparing for a transition to a cardiac PCU step‑down before year’s end. Why Choose Sentara Obici Hospital? Responsibilities include direct patient care, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team, providing nursing interventions and care plans, medication administration, testing, performing nursing interventions, and serving as a patient advocate for illness or disease prevention.
