Clinical Services Nursing Full-Time Requisition #: OBTEC003263 Description Valley Presbyterian Hospital Support Families During Life's Most Important Moments At Valley Presbyterian Hospital, our Women's and Children's Services team is dedicated to providing compassionate, family-centered care throughout the childbirth experience. We are seeking a skilled OB Technician to support our Labor & Delivery team by assisting with cesarean sections, vaginal deliveries, surgical procedures, and patient care. This role is ideal for a collaborative healthcare professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional care to mothers and newborns. What You'll Do Assist physicians, anesthesiologists, and registered nurses before, during, and after cesarean sections, vaginal deliveries, and other obstetrical procedures. Scrub and maintain sterile technique during cesarean sections, tubal ligations, and other surgical procedures. Prepare operating rooms, delivery rooms, surgical instruments, and equipment for procedures. Set up delivery tables and pass instruments and supplies while maintaining a sterile field. Assist with gowning, gloving, and procedural support during deliveries and surgeries. Restock operating rooms, delivery rooms, epidural carts, and sub-sterile areas after procedures. Maintain surgical equipment and ensure supplies are readily available for patient care. Support Labor & Delivery nursing staff by assisting with patient care before, during, and after childbirth. Perform clerical duties including answering telephones, call lights, data entry, physician order processing, and assembling patient charts. Welcome and assist patients, families, and visitors while providing exceptional customer service. Assist with patient transfers using safe body mechanics and proper lifting techniques. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, infection prevention practices, and departmental safety programs. What You'll Bring One (1) year of acute care hospital experience as an OB Technician or Surgical Technologist preferred. Ability to scrub and assist during Labor & Delivery surgical procedures. Knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and Labor & Delivery procedures. Strong understanding of antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced clinical environment. Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining patient safety. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Ability to obtain and maintain an LA County Fire Card within the first 30 days of employment. Must maintain all required certifications, mandatory education, and occupational health requirements in accordance with hospital policy.
