Position Summary

We are seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to support our seasonal immunization program during the fall vaccination season through early January 2027. The Vaccine Nurse will play a key role in administering influenza vaccines to patients and may also assist with the administration of other recommended vaccines as needed. This position requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, excellent patient communication, and a commitment to safe vaccine administration practices.

This temporary position is 24-32 hours/week and supports seasonal vaccination efforts from September – early January.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Administer influenza vaccines in accordance with established clinical protocols and organizational policies.

• Assist with the administration of other vaccines as needed, including but not limited to COVID-19, pneumococcal, Tdap, and other age-appropriate immunizations, for both pediatric- and adult-aged patients.

• Review patient health histories and screen for contraindications or precautions prior to vaccine administration.

• Educate patients regarding vaccine benefits, risks, potential side effects, and post-vaccination care.

• Monitor patients for adverse reactions following vaccination and respond appropriately according to clinical protocols.

• Accurately document vaccine administration, consent, and patient education in electronic health records and/or immunization registries.

• Adhere to all infection prevention, safety, privacy, and regulatory standards.

• Assist with patient flow and other clinical support and nursing activities as assigned.

• Practice in compliance with established practice standards, policies, procedures, protocols, and regulations. Complete all mandatory training.

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience administering vaccines and injections.
• Strong clinical assessment and patient education skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

Physical Requirements: Ability to bend, pull and carry up to 70 pounds, OSHA Job Classification: II
