Litigation Paralegal

A well-established and growing plaintiff-side law firm is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join their team in Sacramento, California. This is a fully onsite opportunity for an experienced litigation paralegal who wants meaningful ownership of personal injury matters, regular involvement in cases headed toward trial, and a long-term home with a collaborative team that values strong work and initiative.

You'll work closely with attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle, taking substantive responsibility for discovery, medical records, experts, deadlines, deposition preparation, and trial support. The right person is meticulous, proactive, comfortable juggling a busy caseload, and capable of moving work forward without needing constant direction.

This role is fully onsite!

What You'll Do as the Paralegal:

• Provide substantive litigation support across plaintiff-side personal injury matters
• Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, meet-and-confer correspondence, motions, subpoenas, and other litigation documents
• Manage written discovery from initial requests through responses, follow-up, and resolution of outstanding issues
• Obtain, organize, review, and summarize medical records and bills
• Develop medical chronologies and damages summaries that help attorneys evaluate and prepare cases
• Prepare deposition summaries and assist attorneys with deposition strategy and preparation
• Coordinate expert retention, records, scheduling, disclosures, and other expert-related requirements
• Prepare trial binders, exhibit and witness lists, jury instructions, and other trial materials
• Provide litigation and courtroom support as matters proceed to trial
• Manage court filings and e-filing in California state and federal courts
• Maintain accurate litigation calendars and proactively track court, discovery, deposition, and trial deadlines
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, medical providers, insurance representatives, experts, and vendors
• Maintain organized electronic and physical case files and ensure attorneys have the information they need when they need it

Must-Haves as the Paralegal:

• Meets California paralegal qualification requirements under Business & Professions Code Section 6450
• 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience
• Recent law firm experience, including experience within the past two years
• Strong working knowledge of California civil litigation procedures, discovery requirements, and court deadlines
• Experience independently drafting discovery and other litigation documents with limited attorney oversight
• Strong litigation calendaring and deadline-management skills
• Experience using legal case management software
• Ability to manage a high volume of detailed information and competing priorities without allowing deadlines or follow-up items to slip
• Exceptional attention to detail, proofreading, organization, and follow-through
• Confidence communicating regularly with clients and other parties by phone, email, and text
• Professional, collaborative communication style and a team-first mentality
• Ability to work full-time onsite in Sacramento

• Hands-on trial preparation or courtroom support experience
• Medical record review, medical chronology, and damages analysis experience
• Experience coordinating expert witnesses and expert disclosures

• Experience preparing subpoenas and coordinating process service
• Experience supporting complex or high-value personal injury matters
