Digital Media Sales Director

Science and Medicine Group is a leading business information and media firm serving the life science, analytical instrument, clinical diagnostic, diagnostic imaging, and dental industries. The company's portfolio includes market intelligence brands BioInformatics, IMV Medical Information, Instrument Business Outlook, Kalorama Information, and Strategic Directions International as well as media brands AuntMinnie.com, DrBicuspid.com, LabPulse.com, and ScienceBoard.net.

Purpose

Science and Medicine Group, an industry leader in digital media for Health Imaging, Dental, and Clinical laboratory market, is looking for a National Sales Director. This job entails selling digital media solutions to companies in the dental market space. Most selling occurs remotely with approximately 15% travel to tradeshows and occasional customer visits.

The ideal candidate is someone currently selling digital media, preferable in the dental market. However, a skilled digital sales professional who is eager to join a well-funded and rapidly growing business and is willing to quickly learn a new market, will receive consideration. Position includes base salary plus commission.

Responsibilities

This person will play a key role in maintaining and growing the sales for DrBicuspid.com or AuntMinnie.com site by:

Sales – 65%

• Engage on the phone, online, and in person with companies to facilitate sales of products
• Work with the CEO and Head of Sales to develop strategies on areas to grow new business
• Achieve individual targets by managing and growing exiting accounts and developing new business
• Understand the dental or health imaging side of the business to help solve customer business challenges
• Maintain and grow long-term client relationships
• Prospect and acquire

Coordination/Communication – 25%

• Respond to and follow up on inquiries and leads in a timely manner
• Utilize CRM to track interaction with clients and potential clients
• Bring together in-house teams to meet and exceed customer expectations

Special Projects/Ad hoc Responsibilities – 10%

• Flexibility to shift into other ancillary sales areas as needed
• Additional duties as needed and assigned

Requirements

Skills & Competencies

An ideal candidate for this role could have:

• Experience working with large accounts that require multiple stakeholders’ approval
• Highly motivated, self-starter with attention to detail
• Strong prospecting and account nurturing skills
• Outstanding organization, communication, and presentation skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Google Suite.
• Ability to handle high volume customer portfolio with multiple products
• Ability to work quickly and independently with minimal oversight
• Aptitude for critical thinking and attention to detail
• Excellent problem solving, judgement, and decision-making skills

Education & Experience

• 5+ years’ experience selling digital solutions through needs-based approach
• Strong knowledge of the dental industry and proven relationships with companies in this market
• Experience managing long term relationships with clients
• Experience presenting solutions to clients and potential clients
• Experience with prospecting to find the right decision maker
• Experience using CRM
