Strategic Relationship Manager Agricultural Finance

An agricultural finance company is seeking an experienced Strategic Relationship Manager to manage its largest and most valuable customer relationships. This role combines strategic account management, customer retention, portfolio oversight, and annual renewals while delivering exceptional service to agricultural business owners.

The company specializes in agricultural operating lines of credit, with approximately 90% of sales efforts focused on operating lines. Additional real estate and equipment financing opportunities are supported through funding partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage approximately 2030 strategic, high-value customer relationships as the primary day-to-day contact.
• Develop a thorough understanding of each customer's operations, financial performance, financing needs, and long-term goals.
• Build lasting relationships through proactive communication, regular engagement, and responsive service.
• Drive customer retention and identify opportunities to expand existing relationships and originate operating lines of credit.
• Lead annual renewals, including pricing discussions, term negotiations, documentation coordination, and customer communications.
• Partner with Credit, Operations, Legal, and other internal teams to provide a seamless customer experience.
• Coordinate timely collection of financial statements, required reporting, and supporting documentation.
• Monitor portfolio performance, credit utilization, and emerging risk indicators; escalate concerns appropriately.
• Resolve customer issues and support adoption of the customer portal and related technology.
• Maintain accurate account records, forecasts, activity updates, and opportunities in HubSpot CRM.
• Provide leadership with portfolio insights, retention metrics, and strategic account updates.
• Participate in regional meetings and collaborate on improvements to processes and customer service.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in relationship management, commercial lending, agricultural finance, banking, or related account management.
• Experience managing high-value customer relationships preferred.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, commercial lending, and portfolio management.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with business owners and executive-level customers.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess business opportunities and potential risks while exercising sound judgment.
• Experience with CRM systems, preferably HubSpot, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments.
• Willingness to travel as needed to support customer relationships.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Agriculture, or a related field preferred.
