Accounting Specialist 1 On-Site | Phoenix, AZ

Support receivables collection, revenue validation, and banking and general ledger accounting functions in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.

Assist with collecting returned payments, fuel tax and audit assessments, civil penalties, and miscellaneous receivables.

Use skip tracing and other tools to locate delinquent customers.

Apply state statutes, rules, and ADOT policies to receivable collections.

Communicate with internal and external customers by phone, email, and letter.

Process credit card and check transactions, internal deposits, bank levies, bond claims, and transfers.

Refer debt and remove uncollected debt.

Test internal system enhancements.

Validate, record, and report revenue; perform banking and general ledger accounting functions, including account analysis and reconciliations.

Write and maintain desk procedures; cross-train on department duties and provide backup as needed.

Complete other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Collections experience, clearly stated on your resume.

Strong communication skills, including phone, email, and written correspondence.

Knowledge of banking and general ledger functions.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Experience & Education:

Accounting experience.

High school diploma.
