Customer Support Specialist

CUSTOMER SUPPORT SPECIALIST - VOLGISTICS, INC.:

Volgistics is a leader in volunteer management software, offering a suite of web-based tools that help organizations recruit, track, and coordinate volunteers around the world! Originally launched as a desktop application in the early 1990s and transitioned to a web platform in 2004, Volgistics is a stable, financially solid, and growing company with a long-standing reputation in its field.

We are seeking a full-time Customer Support Specialist to join our team. This role is central to our customer experience and serves as the primary point of contact for users of our software. No programming or IT background is required.

In this role, you will help customers get the most out of Volgistics by answering questions, providing guidance, and ensuring a smooth user experience. You will also contribute to product development by sharing customer feedback and assisting with testing new features before release.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Respond to customer inquiries through our online messaging system (no phone support)

- Test software updates prior to public release

- Provide online demonstrations and training to prospective customers (non-sales role)

- Maintain and update online help documentation

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Strong written communication skills and typing proficiency

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

- Patience, empathy, and a customer-focused mindset

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND SCHEDULE:

This is a full-time, in-person position at our office in Byron Center, Michigan. Standard hours are weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. Occasional evening and weekend shifts may be required; which are worked remotely and coveted among the staff due to their easy-going/on call overtime nature.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

- Pay starts at $18/hour during the initial training period (typically a few months). Increases to $19/hour upon completion of training, with opportunities for overtime and raises
