We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support key people operations in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role combines benefits administration, payroll coordination, onboarding, compliance support, and employee communication in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage sensitive information while helping deliver a positive employee experience.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee employee benefits programs such as medical, dental, life, disability, retirement, and profit-sharing plans, ensuring accurate administration and employee support.
• Collaborate with HR leadership to assess plan performance, review cost and utilization trends, and assist with vendor renewals and annual benefits planning.
• Coordinate open enrollment activities, prepare benefit communications, and produce reporting that helps employees understand available coverage and total rewards offerings.
• Lead onboarding activities for permanent employees, including orientation sessions and accurate entry and maintenance of employee information within HR systems.
• Process bi-weekly payroll for salaried staff, support payroll administration for additional employee groups, and maintain deductions, tax settings, garnishments, and pay updates.
• Prepare payroll-related reports for retirement contributions, insurance changes, new employees, separations, accounting needs, and budget alignment while completing regular payroll audits.
• Maintain compliance with employment laws, benefit regulations, required postings, and reporting obligations at the federal, state, and local levels.
• Administer workers’ compensation cases, track workplace injuries, coordinate reporting with carriers, and support documentation and follow-up activities.
• Support employee engagement efforts through surveys, internal communications, meetings, events, and company-sponsored community or fundraising initiatives.• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar human resources role.
• Demonstrated background in total rewards, including benefits administration and employee compensation communication.
• Experience processing payroll for large employee populations, including maintaining payroll data and resolving employee questions.
• Working knowledge of HR compliance requirements, wage and hour practices, and benefits-related regulations.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, complete audits, and prepare accurate reports.
• Excellent organizational abilities, discretion, and attention to detail in handling confidential information.
• Certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP is preferred.
