Job Title: Apprentice Elevator Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking an Apprentice Elevator Mechanic to work alongside licensed mechanics on new construction and elevator installation sites. This role requires a candidate with excellent organizational skills, time management, and the ability to effectively communicate with customers. Candidates with experience in MIG and stick welding, blueprint and schematic reading, and auto mechanics are highly encouraged to apply. You will be traveling and gone from home MON-FRIDAY over night travel is almost every week. MUST BE OPEN TO TRAVEL. Pay increases every 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed mechanics on new construction job sites and new elevator installation sites.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at work sites.
• Manage time effectively to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
• Listen to and communicate effectively with customers.
• Perform MIG and stick welding as required.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Apply mechanical and electrical skills in various tasks.
• Work comfortably in small spaces and perform tasks that require lifting, bending, and standing.

Essential Skills

• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Basic mechanical skill set.
• Comfortable with electrical and construction tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with MIG and stick welding.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Experience in auto mechanics or related fields.

Work Environment

This role requires working on new construction sites in Louisville and Lexington, where you will need to be comfortable in various weather conditions. The company is employee-owned, fostering a collaborative and supportive work culture.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY.

The pay range for this position is $14.00 - $14.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
