Director Of Business Development
A modern corporate law firm seeks a Director of Business Development to lead attorney-driven client development — a full-time BD role, not a practicing attorney position. It suits a lawyer ready to move from casework into the firm's commercial side: engaging founders and business owners, diagnosing needs, converting opportunities, and building referral relationships.
The role covers guiding client conversations on fit, process, and pricing; expanding the firm's network among high-growth companies and their advisors; and refining how matters are scoped and handed off to attorneys.
Ideal candidates are commercially minded lawyers — corporate, startup, or M&A attorneys, boutique-firm lawyers seeking a stronger platform, or former in-house/startup counsel. Requirements: an active U.S. law license, prior legal practice, strong business-law fluency, and meaningful presence in the New York market.
This is a remote role connected to New York. Compensation includes base salary, performance bonus, full benefits, and bar dues/CLE reimbursement.
