Supply Planner – Raw Materials & Global ComponentsThis role owns the supply plan for the direct raw materials that feed our domestic manufacturing operations — resin and colorant — as well as internationally and domestically sourced components that flow into our finished goods. The supply base spans Asia, Mexico, and domestic suppliers. Replenishment lead times run as long as 150 days.The planner in this seat decides how much inventory to carry and when to commit to it, balancing manufacturing continuity and customer service against working capital and exposure to excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory. The job requires buying to a forecast that changes, planning to a service level, and staying effective in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift weekly. It works closely with Product Management, Marketing, Demand Planning, Logistics, and Manufacturing, and contributes to the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process.Primary ResponsibilitiesOwn the supply plan for direct raw materials — resin, color concentrate and colorants, and other production inputs — so that material is available to support the manufacturing schedule.Convert the production schedule and demand forecast into a time-phased material plan; place, maintain, expedite, and reschedule purchase orders as requirements change.Set and maintain planning parameters — lead time, safety stock, min/max levels, reorder points, order multiples, and MOQs — and review them on a regular cadence rather than setting them once.Balance supplier minimums and bulk-buy economics (truckload and railcar resin purchases, colorant batch minimums) against the excess inventory and cash risk those commitments create.Own excess and obsolete exposure for the assigned materials — watch aged and slow-moving inventory, and drive burn-down, substitution, or disposition with Product Management and Operations.Plan and replenish purchased components across a supply base spanning Asia, Mexico, and domestic suppliers, each with different lead times, MOQs, and transit modes.Plan to lead times of up to 150 days by managing the full replenishment cycle — supplier production, ocean or land transit, customs clearance, and inbound receipt — not just the supplier's quoted lead time.Work with the overseas office, freight forwarders, and Logistics on bookings, container utilization, and ETD/ETA management.Keep dock dates accurate in the system, and communicate date changes and their business impact early.Plan ahead for known international disruptions and seasonality — Chinese New Year, peak season capacity, port congestion, tariff and trade-policy changes — by building coverage before the window closes.Buy to a forecast: turn the demand plan into an executable supply plan, and decide how far out to commit when lead time runs past the reliable forecast horizon.Apply min/max and reorder-point replenishment appropriately by item.Set safety stock and service level targets based on demand variability, lead time, and business priority, and adjust them as needs change — protecting a launch or a key account, thinning coverage on declining items.Own the inventory results for the assigned portfolio: in-stock and fill rate, turns, months of supply, excess and obsolete dollars, and past-due purchase orders.Support new product development early enough that material and component lead times are built into the launch timeline rather than discovered late.Recommend initial buy quantities for items with no demand history — including new resins and colorants — using similar-item history and input from Product Management and Marketing.Manage phase-in/phase-out and end-of-life run-out so changeovers do not strand raw material, component, or packaging inventory; flag obsolescence exposure before a last-time buy is committed.Work day to day with Product Management, Marketing, Demand Planning, Logistics, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Customer Service — this role does not succeed on system output alone.Bring supply risks to SIOP and to leadership with the business impact, a recommendation, and a clear ask, early enough for the business to act.Work confidently in the MRP/planning system day to day — keep dates, parameters, and order data accurate, and know when to follow the system's recommendation and when to override it.Manage supplier delivery performance for assigned materials, and support supplier scorecards.Use available tools, including AI, to reduce manual effort in reporting, exception review, and supplier follow-up.Provide backup support to other Supply Planners, and perform other duties as required.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree required — Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field.Minimum 5 years of supply planning, material planning, or buyer/planner experience in an MRP/ERP environment.Experience planning raw materials or components to support a manufacturing schedule — not finished-goods replenishment only.Experience managing long lead time, internationally sourced supply, including lead times in the 90–150+ day range.Hands-on working competency in MRP/ERP planning systems; experience with GAINS and Oracle is a plus.Practical experience with min/max planning, replenishment parameter management, and buying to a forecast.Working understanding of service level and safety stock — what drives it, and how to adjust it to support changing business needs.Experience managing excess and obsolete inventory, and supporting new product launches.Strong technical skills, including advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, large data sets). Candidates should expect a practical skills assessment during the interview process.Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Product Management, Marketing, Demand Planning, and Logistics.Demonstrated success in a fast-paced environment with constant change — able to re-prioritize daily and keep the critical items moving.Strong written and verbal communication, a sense of urgency, and accountability for results.Legal authorization to work in the United States; willingness to travel occasionally to business locations and suppliers.Preferred QualificationsExperience using AI tools in supply chain or planning work.Experience in the promotional products, retail, or consumer products industry.APICS/ASCM certification — CPIM or CSCP.Familiarity with plastics manufacturing inputs: resin grades, color concentrate and masterbatch, and injection molding constraints.Working knowledge of import basics — Incoterms, tariffs and duty, and customs documentation. Location: Remote, with ability to frequently visit Spring Hill FL ideal but not required.
