The duties of a Dining Room Supervisor include the following:

• Supervises dining room personnel. Including hostess, cashiers, waitresses and bus-persons.

• Prepares work schedules.

• Trains new employees.

• Greets guest upon their arrival to the dining room.

• Maintains cleanliness of dining room area.

• Maintains records.

• Arranges the tables to accommodate groups.

• Assists when necessary to waitresses and sets up for groups.

• Processes daily receipts.

• Completes inventory.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION:High school graduate.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:Two years of food service experience in any of the following areas: full-service restaurant, state resort park, hospital, commercial dining room.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:Food service experience in any of the following areas will substitute for the education on year for year basis: full service restaurant, state resort park, hospital, or commercial dining room.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):NONE

Working Conditions

Works in dining room setting.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
