* Job Summary Job ID 299277 Position # 40109857 The Department of Neurology in the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia is actively seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor, as a board certified/board eligible full-time Neuropsychologist to join our faculty. Devotion to excellence in clinical care and teaching will promote the professional goals of the faculty member and needs of patients. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to providing clinical care, participating in covering inpatient and outpatient clinical services, night/weekend/holiday call coverage, and academic/teaching within the Medical College of Georgia and the Department of Neurology. This position does not meet the requirements to be on a tenure track.
Responsibilities Neuropsychologist will provide comprehensive neuropsychological assessment and consultation services for patients with neurological, neurosurgical, and neuropsychiatric conditions. This position will support multidisciplinary clinical programs through diagnostic evaluations, treatment recommendations, interdisciplinary collaboration, and participation in teaching and scholarly activity. The successful candidate will contribute to the academic mission of the department through education of medical students, residents, fellows, and trainees, while maintaining an active clinical practice and engaging in research, quality improvement, or program development initiatives aligned with departmental goals. College/Department Information The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 304 students per class. The MCG educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, with regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state, and two four-year campuses located in Athens (in partnership with the University of Georgia) and in Savannah (in partnership with Georgia Southern University). Patient Care/Service:
- Pursuing the faculty member's passion as related to our clinical, research, and educational missions.
- Provide high-quality, comprehensive care in Neuropsychology in an effort to improve quality, safety and patient satisfaction.
- Participate in assigned clinical duties: Evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with movement disorders in the outpatient clinic.
- Meet all metrics associated with Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE). This includes but is not limited to: attendance at quality meetings proper management of documentation, completion of all online compliance training modules, attendance at faculty meetings, etc.
- Meet and maintain productivity targets as set forth by the department chair and MCG Dean's Office through clinical services provided.
- Promote good professional relationships and build referral patterns with Augusta University physicians and physicians outside of Augusta University (referring physicians in community, region and state).
- Provide prompt feedback to referring physicians.
- Provide education and training to residents, medical students and staff which includes but is not limited to: clinical supervision, consultation and didactics.
- Achieve and maintain teaching evaluation scores at or above the department mean.
- Attend 50% or more weekly neurology Grand Rounds presentations and monthly faculty meetings.
- Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
- Completion of an APA-accredited internship with specialization in clinical neuropsychology.
- Completion of a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology consistent with Houston Conference Guidelines.
- Board eligible or board certified in Clinical Neuropsychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).
- Eligible for licensure as a psychologist in the State of Georgia.
- Demonstrated experience in neuropsychological assessment of patients with neurological and/or neurosurgical disorders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary academic medical environment.
