Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Profession: Nurse Aide Specialty: Long Term Care / Skilled Nursing Facility Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evenings Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 1 year License: Required Certifications: CNA; BLS preferred Must-Have: 1 year of CNA experience; teamwork; communication; respect Description: CNA- Patient Ratios: Memory care and skilled only; 2 CNAs per unit. Required Certifications: CNA; BLS preferred. Common diagnoses/types of patients include CHF, HTN, DM, old strokes, Alzheimer's, dementia, and total cares. Experience or'must have' skills: 1 year of CNA experience. First-time travelers are welcome. The successful candidate will provide the best care for the residents. Teamwork, communication, and respect are essential. Job duties include assisting with ADLs, bathing, responding to call lights, emptying foley, foley catheter cares, feeding, and dining room assistance. Charting is by exception. The charge nurse/house supervisor is an LPN or RN. Shifts and scheduling are 8 hours, with some rotating. Weekend requirements are every other weekend. Holiday requirements will be based on need. Floating requirements include training on all units and expectation to float throughout the building. Scrub color/dress code: Any solid color scrubs. Unit/department specific orientation may vary in duration based on the candidate. Additional notes: No facial piercings, no offensive tattoos, and no face and neck tattoos unless covered. No tobacco products or marijuana use on the premises. No earbuds or phones in patient care areas. Breaks only as permitted.
