Senior Accountant

Job Summary:The Senior Accountant is responsible for complex general accounting activities, including month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and financial analysis within a dynamic, project-based environment. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and timely delivery of financial information while partnering cross-functionally with operations, project teams, and leadership. The position will also have exposure to specialized accounting areas, including joint ownership/shared-cost arrangements and collaboration with tax teams, supporting data preparation, analysis, and compliance efforts as needed. The role requires strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while driving process improvements and continuous efficiency across accounting operations.Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 6+ years relevant experience or Highschool diploma/GED with 8+ years relevant experienceCPA candidate preferredStrong general ledger and month-end close experienceExperience in project-based or complex accounting environmentsExposure to joint venture or shared-cost structures preferredExperience supporting tax-related processes preferredStrong understanding of GAAP and internal controls (SOX preferred)Advanced Excel and ERP experience requiredStrong understanding of accounting principlesAbility to analyze financial data and resolve variancesStrong communication skills with non-financial stakeholdersAbility to manage multiple priorities with accuracyCollaborative mindset focused on continuous improvementJob Duties and Responsibilities:Perform month-end close activitiesReview financial statements for accuracy and trendsPrepare schedules and analyses for reporting and auditsMaintain internal controls and audit readinessSupport accounting for joint ownership and project-based structuresAssist tax-related financial preparationSupport audit requestsAnalyze project/program financial resultsSupport budgeting and forecastingProvide financial insightsPartner cross-functionally across teamsLead or support process improvement initiativesWorking Conditions:This position is hybridOccasional travel may be required for training or meetings.Must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate different time zones (Central/Eastern/Mountain/Pacific), if necessary.Be flexible for after-hours tasks, as needed.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.
