IT Lab Support Specialist

Lab Computing AnalystWe're looking for a technically skilled and customer-focused Lab Computing Analyst to provide on-site IT support within a regulated laboratory environment. This is a hands-on role that blends traditional IT support with compliance, consulting, and stakeholder coordination — ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology and science.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform break/fix support for all instrument-connected systems and serve as the primary technical contact for field service engineers and external vendorsImplement Windows-based security policies and ensure adherence to corporate compliance programs through periodic reportingMaintain a physical inventory of lab equipment, PCs, software, and other environment-relevant assetsSupport validation and compliance activities (IOPQ) and provide technical subject matter expertise for new system validation and change managementGather and analyze requirements, assess current-state processes, and recommend process improvements aligned with industry best practicesEvaluate vendor solutions and facilitate proof-of-concept demosCoordinate with internal and external service groups, providing weekly planning schedules and participating in monthly operational reviews and quarterly metrics reporting with department headsPerform preventative maintenance on systems based on client schedules, as applicableRequired Qualifications2+ years of experience in a lab support role working directly with scientists, vendors, and lab instruments3+ years supporting a Windows environmentExperience supporting GxP machines and operating within a GxP-regulated environmentStrong troubleshooting skills across complex instrument and technology issuesExcellent customer service and communication skills — written and verbalAbility to manage tasks across multiple concurrent projectsFamiliarity with laboratory safety practicesJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Chicago, IL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
