Food Service Supervisor

The Nutrition Services team at UPMC Altoona seeks a Food Service Supervisor to lead and support a dynamic food service team. This is a full‑time opportunity offering day and evening hours. Purpose Responsible for training, supervision, and performance of food service associates to maintain food safety, food quality, and customer satisfaction in the varied Food and Nutrition operations. Responsibilities Provide direct supervision of hourly associates and ensure their adherence to all UPMC policies, department standards, and guidelines. Conduct orientation, training, and coaching for new team members, ensuring routine competency checks are completed for all associates. Coach and discipline associates appropriately and in accordance with Human Resource policies. Provide relevant and timely performance feedback to associates through the performance review process. Schedule personnel to meet operational needs in accordance with volume and budgetary guidelines. Maintain inventory levels to ensure they meet operational needs, overseeing inventory security and cash revenues. Document service recovery on all customer complaints per operational guidelines. Monitor all aspects of the department's food safety program and take immediate action to identify hazards; monitor sanitation program daily to ensure inspection readiness. Supervise services per department standards and complete quality control and assurance checks to ensure regulatory compliance. Monitor food quantity and quality to ensure appropriate product is available for meal service per menu and special requests. #J-18808-Ljbffr
