Job Title
Monitor and troubleshoot all Marine Corps Electronic Security Systems, Intrusion Detection System, alarm, mass notification and CCTV systems installed and annunciating at the Provost Marshal Office/Marine Corps Police Department.
Receive and process incoming fire alarms, 911 calls, emergency and non-emergency requests for police, fire, medical emergencies, airfield emergencies, and environmental and hazardous materials incidents.
Dispatch personnel and apparatus to the scene of emergencies, record pertinent data, events, and logs, and initiate pre-arrival instructions to callers for fire, medical, and police emergencies.
Monitor status and availability of police, fire, and medical field units to assure an appropriate response is made.
Monitor and operate the Mass Notification (MNS) as directed to ensure proper dissemination of emergency mass notification messages throughout the installation.
Must be a US Citizen.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required.
This is a Mission Essential position.
You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver's license and be able to maintain a U.S. Government emergency vehicle operator's license.
Requires the ability to meet legal requirements for carrying a firearm.
You must obtain the following certifications within the first year of employment and maintain them without lapse throughout employment: First Aid, CPF, EMO Protocols and Certifications.
You must complete all required trainings.
You will be required to pass the Police Applicant Suitability Review (PASR) Investigation.
Must be able to read, write and speak English.
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements.
This position requires rotating shift work.
Must complete the MCESS (Marine Corps Electronic Security System) training provided by the physical security section.
