Roadrunner is looking for skilled Forklift Operators who know how to move freight safely, efficiently, and with precision, with multiple shifts available to fit different schedules and lifestyles.

You’ll be a key part of our dock operation, operating forklifts, loading and unloading trailers, moving freight through the service center, and keeping shipments moving across our network.

What You’ll Do

You’ll help keep freight moving through our network safely, accurately, and on schedule.

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other dock equipment

• Load and unload trailers safely and efficiently

• Move, stack, and secure freight while protecting it from damage

• Scan, tag, and label shipments accurately

• Install blocking, bracing, and padding to secure freight in trailers

• Move freight between trailers, dock areas, and designated staging areas

• Keep the dock clean, organized, and free of hazards

• Follow safety procedures and hazardous materials requirements

• Work closely with supervisors and other dock team members to keep freight moving

• Identify and communicate safety concerns, damaged freight, or potential delays

• Help the team meet productivity, quality, and service goals

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for people who show up, work safely, stay productive, and take pride in doing the job right.

• High school diploma or GED

• Forklift qualification required

• Previous forklift, dock, warehouse, freight, or logistics experience preferred

• LTL or cross-dock experience is a plus

• Ability to work safely and accurately in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to follow safety rules, work instructions, and operating procedures

• Basic math skills

• Hazardous Materials Training is a plus

• Dependable, team-oriented, and ready to work

Compensation & Setup

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Additional earning opportunities: up to $190 extra every month through Roadrunner Champions (up to $2,280/year) + $200–$400 Alligator Freight contests and safety awards

Incentive programs are subject to eligibility requirements, performance criteria, and applicable program terms.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This is an active dock environment where you’ll work around freight, forklifts, trailers, and other industrial equipment.

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

• Frequently stand, walk, reach, and handle freight

• Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

• Work around moving vehicles and industrial equipment

• Work may include exposure to outdoor weather, temperature changes, and vibration

• Dock noise levels are typically moderate to high

• Specific vision abilities include color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
