IV Certified Pharmacy Technician in Arlington, VA

An experienced Pharmacy Technician is needed to support specialty infusion pharmacy operations in Northern Virginia. This role offers a hybrid workflow with a focus on patient care coordination and sterile compounding support, providing a balanced, engaging pharmacy practice environment. The position is a contract-to-hire opportunity, ideal for candidates ready to start immediately and looking to transition into a permanent role after 2-3 months.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) Duties (50-70%)

• Process patient referrals and intake documentation efficiently
• Verify insurance benefits and eligibility while assisting with prior authorizations and payer communications
• Coordinate therapy initiation and medication delivery alongside communication with providers, patients, and clinical teams
• Maintain accurate patient records and track therapy progress closely

Pharmacy Operations & Clean Room Support (30-50%)

• Assist with prescription processing and dispensing workflow
• Support sterile compounding and clean room operations, adhering to USP compliance standards
• Manage inventory and assist with medication preparation
• Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure precise order fulfillment

Qualifications & Desired Experience

• Active Pharmacy Technician registration or license (Virginia preferred)
• PTCB certification strongly preferred
• Experience in specialty pharmacy, infusion pharmacy, or hospital setting is preferred
• Background in prior authorization or insurance processing highly desirable
• Sterile compounding or clean room experience strongly preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Availability to start immediately
