Additional Information About the Role Barnes Jewish Hospital is seeking a Unit Secretary to work part time in the emergency department! Ideal applicants will enjoy working in a fast paced environment and great customer service skills. We specialize in a rapid assessment and treatment of patients when every second counts, particularly during the initial phase of acute illness and trauma. No one shift is like the other; no one minute is like the next. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose The Unit Secretary performs clerical duties supporting the operations of the patient care team. Responsibilities Supports the clinical operations by providing customer service and clerical support. Transcribes physician orders as appropriate with close attention to detail. Notifies appropriate nurse when STAT orders are written or when coordinating tests and procedures. Communicates new orders to the healthcare team as appropriate.
