About the Units A variety of medical‑surgical units, including Oncology, Rehab, Cardiology, Nephrology, Orthopedics, Transplant, Medical‑Surgical Medical, Medical‑Surgical Surgical, Observation, GI, Palliative/Hospice, and Adaptable Acuity. Scope of Work The RN works under the ANA scope of practice and uses the nursing process to provide professional nursing care. The RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and discharges patients, incorporating patient‑family centered care principles. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader, following Corewell Health policies and procedures, and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. The RN partners with patients and families to plan care, develops teaching strategies, and documents education in the health record. Qualifications Associate’s or Diploma in Nursing is required. Bachelor’s in Nursing is required within five years for a GN or RN with less than one year of experience. Graduates from a non‑accredited nursing school must have at least one year of acute‑care experience or at least two years in a licensed health‑care role and successfully passed the NCLEX examination. Must be a Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) within 60 days of hire. Must hold AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
