Production Manager I - ASC

Principal Accountabilities Direct all Production Department activities such as production operations, safety, quality, maintenance of equipment, and cost integrity. Direct production operations to ensure cost effectiveness, efficiency, and consistency with prescribed quality and performance measurements (KPIs). Lead, manage, and train production staff, including operators, technicians, leads, and other production employees. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback or additional training as needed. Identify opportunities for improving production efficiency, reducing waste, and increasing throughput. Implement lean manufacturing principles and other process improvement strategies. Analyze data to drive decisions on plant performance. Review production orders and/or schedules to plan operations and ensure customer deadlines and product specifications are met. Develop or revise standard operating and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with standards. Ensure machinery and equipment are well‑maintained and functioning efficiently. Oversee preventive maintenance schedules to avoid unplanned downtime. Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs or replacements. Review production and operation reports to ensure minimum costs, customer concerns, and prevent operational delays. Comply, store, and review all production data. Monitor and ensure positive morale and discipline through fairness and impartiality. Effectively handle all employee concerns, suggestions, questions, and conflicts. Implement cost‑effective controls for capital, operating expenditures, manpower, and wages. Conduct all work in accordance with the established quality management system to ensure product quality and continual improvement. Maintain safe working conditions by taking corrective action on unsafe conditions or acts. Ensure incident reports and associated corrective actions are completed accurately and timely. Ensure all employees follow all OHSE requirements. Perform any other tasks or projects as required by management. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university with 7–10 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in gravure printing with a thorough knowledge of production processes. Ability to solve practical problems and manage concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Physical Requirements The employee must regularly walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear; and smell. The employee often stands, sits, and reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally the employee stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls and must lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Travel may be required both domestically and internationally. Major Challenges & Complexities Meeting customer specifications and exceeding expectations; ensuring engagement and morale are consistently good and always improving. Relationships Internal: Operations Manager, OHSE Manager, HR Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Controller, Quality Manager. External: Customers, Vendors. Benefits Medical, dental, and vision plans.
