Always. Summary of Role The HELOC Lending Specialist I serves as a key point of contact for members seeking home equity financing. This role is primarily responsible for originating Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) applications, educating members on product options, and ensuring accurate and compliant completion of all required disclosures. The HELOC Lending Specialist I delivers a high level of member service, demonstrates strong phone etiquette, and effectively manages time and production goals within a fast‑paced, high‑volume lending environment. Required Experience Minimum of 2 years in consumer lending with an emphasis on HELOCs Strong knowledge of consumer lending products, particularly HELOCs. Understanding of HELOC disclosures, documentation requirements, and application flow. Preferred Experience Previous experience originating consumer or home equity loans in a credit union or financial institution. Familiarity with high volume inbound lending or call center style environments. Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or a related field Other Skills Effective problem solving and sound decision making Strong organizational skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation. Ability to multi‑task Demonstrated commitment to high quality member service. Proficiency with loan origination systems and basic technology tools. Excellent verbal communication skills with polished phone presence and professionalism. Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet production goals. Physical Requirements Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 15 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situations. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer, tablet, telephone, copier, facsimile, printer, scanner, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance. Work Environment Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in a climate‑controlled office environment with minimal noise.
