Job Overview Primary City/State: Brush, Colorado. Department: Culinary & Nutrition – Hospital. Shift: Varied. Job Category: Facilities, Environmental Services, and Culinary. Position Summary This position produces all required food items for patients, staff, and visitors based on production sheets, catering requests, and prep sheets. The cook prepares and cooks hot and cold dishes, follows standardized recipes, and records production quantities. The role also involves checking and logging food and equipment temperatures, maintaining par levels, cleaning work areas, and assisting other kitchen and dietary staff as needed. Shift Times 5:30AM – 2:00PM 7:00AM – 3:30PM 8:30AM – 5:00PM 11:00AM – 8:00PM Responsibilities Prepare and cook hot and cold food items using standardized recipes and calculate production quantities based on forecasts, tally sheets, and catering orders. May be assigned to work in the retail cafe grill area and/or cook breakfast items. Record over production and run‑outs, write directions, and calculate production quantities. Check and log food and equipment temperatures; report problems to the supervisor and any needed equipment repairs. Maintain par levels of food and supplies in assigned areas, order or restock items according to established routines, rotate food stocks, and check freshness dates. Keep assigned work areas clean and orderly. Assist other kitchen and dietary staff as needed; may oversee the scheduled shift for efficiency. Work within established procedures, recipes, and work routines under general supervision. Minimum Qualifications One or more years of production cooking experience. Ability to learn and follow established policies and procedures, read and understand written and verbal instruction, and perform simple math calculations. Knowledge of food handling regulations; ability to pass required certification tests. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to perform tasks within limited time frames. Capability to follow production and cleaning schedules, use chemicals safely, read thermometers, and follow safety requirements. Must be 18 years of age or older. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent working knowledge. Additional related education and/or experience preferred. Pay Range $17.32 – $25.98 per hour.
