Data Engineer

Data Engineer FTE w/ Benefits. Bellevue, WA - PST hours. The main skill set required is very strong in SQL and Azure Synapse. Responsibilities Ability to gather and understand requirements by studying features/user stories and implementing them. Design and development for change requests from client. Analyze existing data flow and suggest enhancements/improvements based on technical expertise. Prepare test scenarios/test cases for user stories and share unit testing results as part of development completion. Monitor ETL jobs, pipelines and fix job failures. Troubleshoot data issues, solve discrepancies and provide business intelligence insights. Provide support to users on data related questions/issues during UAT and PROD cycles. Technical Skills Microsoft SQL Server Database and ETL design concepts TSQL SQL Server Analysis Services Fluent in DAX queries (good to have) Azure Synapse – including creating scripts for ETL using Python (PySpark) Experience with Excel – creating data pivots to different sources for analysis Good to have prior experience with Microsoft projects, processes, and tools (like VSTS, VSO) Qualifications Expertise/at least 7+ years of experience in the above technical areas. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
