RN - NICU

NICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse to join our team in a Level 3b Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This is a full-time position requiring a commitment to providing exceptional care to our smallest patients.

Shift Details:

• Shift Type: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holidays: Work with permanent staff schedule

Unit Information:

• Unit Type: NICU Level 3b
• Number of Beds: 16 (expanding to 20 beds)
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:3 for feeder/growers
• Common Diagnoses: All gestational ages, including but not limited to prematurity, sepsis, and substance withdrawal

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates
• Monitor patients using Cerner EMR systems
• Administer medications and oversee drips as required
• Perform neonatal resuscitation and attend deliveries as needed
• Collaborate with the healthcare team, including 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services
• Float to Labor and Delivery or Postpartum to care for newborns as necessary

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Level 3 NICU
• Current BLS Certification
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Experience with high-acuity neonates and ventilators preferred
• Spanish-speaking skills are a plus

Orientation and Training:

• Orientation: 2-3 shifts specific to NICU procedures and protocols
