AP/AR Specialist

We are seeking an experienced AP/AR Specialist for a temporary assignment in Pauma Valley, CA. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience who can step into a fast-paced office environment and help maintain accurate, timely financial records.

The AP/AR Specialist will support day-to-day accounting operations, including invoice processing, account follow-up, reporting, data entry, and vendor and customer communication. This opportunity offers a focused 8-week assignment with clear responsibilities, a professional office setting, and the chance to contribute quickly to an essential accounting function within the government and public sector environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Process invoices, statements, and related accounting documentation accurately and on time.
- Follow up on past-due accounts and communicate professionally regarding outstanding balances.
- Monitor account balances, reconcile information, and prepare routine reports.
- Maintain accurate financial records through timely data entry and documentation.
- Respond to vendor and customer inquiries with professionalism and attention to detail.
- Assist with general accounting and administrative tasks as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay: $28 per hour.
- Assignment type: Contract/Temporary.
- Location: Pauma Valley, CA 92061.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting, Accounts Payable, or Accounts Receivable experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to organize work, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced office environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting accounting operations in a government, public sector, or regulated environment.
- Familiarity with accounting software or financial recordkeeping systems.
- Intermediate Excel skills, including sorting, filtering, formulas, and basic reporting.
