Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Job Overview Mosaic Wellness and Recovery is leading provider of mental health and substance use disorder treatment, offering medical detoxification, residential treatment, and outpatient services. We are seeking an experienced Double Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner to join our growing medical team. This provider will play a key role in delivering integrated medical and psychiatric care to adults receiving treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. The ideal candidate is dual board certified in Family Medicine (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health (PMHNP), possesses strong clinical judgment, and has extensive experience treating patients in medical detoxification settings. This position requires flexibility and the ability to provide coverage across multiple locations as needed. Position Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive medical and psychiatric evaluations for patients in detox, residential, and outpatient programs. Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions within the family practice scope. Assess, monitor, and manage alcohol, opioid, benzodiazepine, and other substance withdrawal syndromes. Develop and oversee individualized medical and psychiatric treatment plans. Prescribe and manage medications, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT) when appropriate. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on clinical presentation. Respond to medical and psychiatric concerns while ensuring timely interventions. Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, admissions, and case management teams to provide coordinated, multidisciplinary care. Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR). Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and quality improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with all applicable state, federal, Joint Commission, CARF, HIPAA, and DBHDD standards. What We’re Looking For Extensive experience treating patients with mental health and substance use disorders. Required experience managing patients through medical detoxification. Strong knowledge of addiction medicine, withdrawal management, and co-occurring psychiatric disorders. Confidence managing general medical conditions within a family practice scope. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team. Excellent assessment, diagnostic, communication, and clinical decision-making skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity behavioral healthcare environment. Flexibility to travel between locations as needed. Required Qualifications Active, unrestricted Georgia Nurse Practitioner license Double Board Certification: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) AND Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) Active DEA registration with prescriptive authority Current CPR/BLS certification Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health, addiction medicine, or related clinical practice Demonstrated experience providing medical care in a detoxification setting is required Preferred Qualifications Experience in residential behavioral health or psychiatric treatment facilities Familiarity with Joint Commission and DBHDD regulations Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems Work Environment Full-time position across multiple facilities located in Johns Creek & Dunwoody Georgia In Person Collaborative, mission-driven clinical environment focused on recovery and stabilization Mosaic Wellness and Recovery is a Drug Free Workplace.
