Staff Accountant

Turning Point USA's Staff Accountant will maintain financial records with daily entries in accordance with GAAP. Incumbent will process donor receipts and accounts payable, review expense reports, classify accounting records, reconcile accounts, research and gather information for financial reporting and audits, assist the finance function with special projects, have a strong work ethic and a keen attention to detail and report directly to the Accounting Director.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ethical and responsible behavior;
• High attention to detail and accuracy;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel;
• A thorough understanding of GAAP and Finance evidenced by either a bachelor's degree (in a related field) or comparable work experience;
• Knowledge of Google Drive (Google Docs, Sheets, etc.);
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Willingness to fulfill all duties listed and any additional duties assigned;
• An unrelenting, positive attitude;
• Strong work ethic and goal-oriented;
• Self-starter and self-motivated;
• Punctual and very responsive;
• Willingness to fulfill all duties listed and any additional duties assigned;
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to locations as needed;
• Demonstrates the physical ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, and safely lift up to 15 lbs.

WOW! Skills:

• Experience working in conservative non-profit or grassroots activism;
• Experience with Sage Intacct or other mid to upper tier accounting software;
• Experience with SAP Concur expense report processing;
• Experience with complex reconciliations;
• Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and vlookups;
• 1-2 years experience in accounts payable/receivable processing and related fields.
