This role focuses on supporting high-volume packaging and production operations by handling bottles, caps, lids, boxes, and containers, while ensuring products are accurately bottled, labeled, and prepared for shipment. You work across multiple production lines, assist with batch mixing and basic formulation tasks, perform quality inspections, and help maintain a clean and safe work area in a modern, temperature-controlled manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Place caps and lids on bottles with consistent speed and accuracy.

• Bottle products into boxes and cases, ensuring correct counts and configurations.

• Load bottles, caps, and lids into boxes and packaging containers as directed.

• Sort and separate finished products based on size, count, and packaging requirements.

• Pack jugs and bottles into boxes, cases, and containers for shipment.

• Lift and stage boxes on pallets and designated staging areas.

• Palletize and wrap boxes and containers securely for transport.

• Feed boxes and products into sealing machinery and monitor equipment during operation.

• Perform quality inspections by counting, sorting, and checking product size and packaging integrity.

• Place tags and labels on products and boxes according to order specifications.

• Pull cases off the production line and stack them neatly on pallets.

• Wrap and stage cases and boxes in designated areas for shipping.

• Work on multiple packaging lines and adjust to changing production needs throughout the day.

• Assist operators with batch mixing, including weighing out liquid product and performing prep work for batches.

• Work with drums and totes during batch preparation and production activities.

• Document all orders accurately and maintain basic production records.

• Lift and move materials and products weighing up to 50–55 lbs as part of daily tasks.

• Perform housekeeping duties such as sweeping, mopping, taking out trash, and salting the parking lot when it snows.

• Remain flexible and willing to wear multiple hats, moving between packaging, formulation, and janitorial tasks as needed.

• Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment, including steel toe footwear.

• Collaborate with team members and communicate with leads to maintain smooth, efficient production.

• Support continuous improvement by keeping work areas organized and reporting any issues with equipment or product quality.

Essential Skills

• Ability to perform multiple jobs and work effectively in multiple areas of the facility.

• Capability to lift up to 50–55 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.

• Previous manufacturing or labor experience in a production, warehouse, or packaging environment.

• Experience with packaging tasks such as picking, packing, wrapping, staging, and palletizing products.

• Skill in lifting and sorting products while maintaining accuracy and pace.

• Comfort with repetitive motions and standing for extended periods during the shift.

• Strong multi-tasking ability to handle changing priorities and move between different production lines.

• Attention to detail when counting, sorting, labeling, and inspecting products.

• Basic documentation skills to record orders and production information clearly and accurately.

• Commitment to safety and proper use of steel toe footwear as part of daily work.

• Reliable transportation to the facilities, which are not accessible by public transit.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Background in chemical, oil, or food manufacturing environments is a plus.

• Experience with batch mixing, formulation support, or weighing liquids is beneficial.

• Familiarity with drums, totes, kettles, fillers, and blenders in a production setting is an advantage.

• Comfort working in both high-volume, fast-paced environments and smaller, more customized production settings.

• Ability to adapt quickly to different lines, products, and tasks during the shift.

• Willingness to work overtime, including mandatory Fridays and occasional Saturdays as needed.

Work Environment

The work takes place in two temperature-controlled manufacturing facilities that focus on safety and cleanliness. The Alsip facility is a modern, very clean, and recently remodeled site with a smaller workforce, typically about 10–15 people on first shift and roughly half that on second shift. It features organized inventory and supplies, fewer lines, and fewer kettles, fillers, and blenders, and handles more customized orders and pallets. The Chicago Heights facility is larger and not as new, but remains in good condition and is also temperature controlled. It supports a much bigger workforce with a few hundred employees across shifts, more production lines, and higher overall volume, which can make the environment more fast-paced and dynamic. There are security checkpoints at the front and multiple break rooms available for employees. At both locations, the chemicals used are not harmful, and safety is a major focus. First shift typically runs 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with an expectation of around 50 hours per week; standard scheduling is four 10-hour days Monday through Thursday, with mandatory Fridays and optional Saturdays when needed. Second shift in Alsip runs Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Employees must have reliable transportation, as the sites are not accessible by public transit. Steel toe footwear is required as part of the dress code, and employees should expect to stand, perform repetitive motions, and move between packaging, formulation, and housekeeping tasks throughout their shifts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.25 - $18.35/hr.
