Description

Northstar Aerospace, now part of Avio Aero - a GE Aerospace Company, is a leading independent manufacturer of components and assemblies to the global Aerospace industry. Our principal products include gears and transmissions, accessory gearbox assemblies, rotorcraft drive systems, and other machined and fabricated parts for helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. We also provide maintenance and repair and overhaul (MRO) on these platforms.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately transacting incoming and out-going shipments. This position issues material to the shop floor, assists in movement, creates records of transactions, and maintains inventory levels.

This position is in Northstar's Supply Chain Department, and reports to the Supply Chain Manager. The position works with all levels of employees throughout the organization as necessary. This is a full-time position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Incoming Receiving: inspect parts and paperwork for completeness and accuracy, transact in the ERP system, and maintain records.
• Protect and preserve parts for storage, movement though the shop, and between buildings.
• Package parts per work instructions and customer requirements. Create new work instructions as needed in collaboration with Supply Chain Manager.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain Manager and co-workers as needed to select cost-effective shipping methods. Fill out Bills of Lading.
• As needed, fill in for driving company vehicles for transportation between buildings and to/from local vendors. Maintain vehicle safety checklists.
• Inspect material handling equipment for defects and notify maintenance personnel for repair
• Load and unload vehicles and safely secure loads for transport.
• Safely use pallet jacks, overhead hoists, and forklift to move material.
• Support an AS9100 certified facility that manufactures aviation hardware.

Qualifications and Experience Required

Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent experience.

Experience Required: 3 years aerospace experience in Shipping & Receiving or Material Handling

Essential Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or GED. Associates degree preferred this goes above in Qualifications
• Experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications. Must be functional in MicroSoft Office Group., Outlook and Internet
• Strong communication, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
• Able to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays in order to ensure that shipment needs are met
