MRI Technologist II (Variable)

Work Location: Orange, California Work Shift: Day – 10 hours (United States of America) Job Summary The MRI Technologist produces images for medical diagnosis by performing a variety of magnetic resonance imaging procedures. The technologist explains procedures to patients and families and assists the radiologist in administering medications. The technologist may prepare patients for imaging by administering contrast (IV and non‑IV). The focus is on infant, children, and adolescent patients, as well as adults as needed. All imaging staff must be able to address family and patient concerns to help facilitate a Family Centered Care approach. Pay Range Minimum $50.40 – Midpoint $66.78 – Maximum $83.16 Responsibilities Produce magnetic resonance imaging images for medical diagnosis. Explain procedures to patients and families and assist radiologists with medication administration. Prepare patients for imaging by administering contrast media, IV or non‑IV. Address patient and family concerns to support a family‑centered care approach. Qualifications Experience : Required – Experience working in an acute care setting; Preferred – One year working in an acute care, pediatric environment. Education : Required – Graduate from an approved education program in Radiologic Technology or MRI. Licensure : Required – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Magnetic Resonance (ARRT‑MR); Basic Life Support (BLS); Venipuncture Certificate. Preferred – Certified Radiologic Tech – CA; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Radiography (ARRT‑R). Specialized Skills : Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively and professionally with others; assertive and consistent in enforcing policies; maintain calmness and courtesy under pressure; communicate effectively in English (written and verbal); use computer and software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite; work well under pressure; problem‑solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information accurately; pay close attention to detail. Training : None required. Work Environment Functional Demand: Sedentary – very light energy level. Physical activity requirements include light lifting and minimal repetitive motion. Employees may need to stand, bend, reach, and work with moderate use of a computer.
