The Reliability Maintenance & Engineering (RME) team supports the Operations Maintenance team by repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician you will assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing automated packaging and distribution equipment, mentor junior technicians, and ensure all equipment runs safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures. Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including belts, motors, photo‑eyes, relays, and more. Maintain a positive working relationship across all Amazon Operations facilities. Move up to 49 lbs, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, climb ladders and gangways safely, and perform regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head. Basic Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 1+ years of Microsoft Office experience. Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays. Certification from Amazon’s Mechatronics and Robotics Apprenticeship Program, or 2+ years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls. 2+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance. 2+ years of reading blueprints and electrical schematics. 2+ years of demonstrating safety standards. 2+ years of troubleshooting and diagnostics of material handling equipment (MHE). Preferred Qualifications Experience with robotic operation and maintenance. 2+ years of electrical and electronic principles experience. Associate’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. 2+ years of mechanical or electrical apprenticeship experience.
