Responsibilities The Fitness Trainer will lead the Planet Fitness group fitness program (View email address on click.appcast.io). This includes designing simple workout programs for new members and instructing them on proper equipment usage. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Core Fitness Instructor Responsibilities: Conduct and run the Planet Fitness View email address on click.appcast.io program, including creating and following the schedule. Consult with members regarding their fitness goals and instruct them on how to properly and safely use the equipment. Promote the Judgement Free Zone by connecting with members on the club floor, offering assistance and support while upholding club policies. Frequently perform a comprehensive walk of all fitness areas to ensure a great member experience, quickly addressing identified issues. Create bi-weekly updates consisting of a variety of exercises. Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic. Respond to member questions and concerns in a timely, professional manner and elevate to Assistant Manager or Manager as needed. Front Desk Activities: Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with a variety of questions. Check members into the system. Guide new member sign-up and offer tours. Update member accounts as needed. Club Cleanliness and Safety: Clean and sanitize all exercise equipment and Black Card spa amenities. Perform comprehensive walks of all club areas, fixing safety and policy issues and addressing cleanliness concerns. Maintain restrooms: clean, sanitized, stocked, and clutter-free following the routine cleaning schedule. Qualifications Previous Fitness Trainer/Instructor experience preferred. Nationally Certified Training Certificate required. Passion for fitness and health. Upbeat and positive attitude. Punctuality and reliability. Exceptional customer service skills; able to interact positively and professionally with members and coworkers. Strong listening skills with the ability to empathize and problem-solve. Diplomacy in all interactions using appropriate behavior and language. High School diploma/GED equivalent preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older. Physical Demands Continual standing and walking during shift. Continual speaking in person or on the phone during shift. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Exposure to toxic chemicals during shift.
