Bus DriverHarris County Precinct 4 is seeking a professional, safety-driven Bus Driver to support our popular Day Trips program and other community transportation needs. If you take pride in public service, enjoy interacting with people, and are dedicated to safety and reliability, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.Duties and Responsibilities:Ensure the safety and security of all passengers throughout transportAssist passengers with boarding, seating, deboarding, and loading/unloading equipmentMaintain comfortable interior conditions by adjusting heating, ventilation, and lightingOperate vehicles in full compliance with traffic laws, safety regulations, and Precinct 4 policiesReport delays, accidents, or vehicle issues promptly and document as requiredConduct pre-trip inspections and complete all necessary trip reportsReview route details in advance and arrive at pickup locations 30 minutes before departureMaintain vehicle cleanliness through refueling, trash removal, and washing/sweeping/mopping after each tripRefrain from using tobacco products in Precinct 4 vehiclesAccurately document daily trip information and submit receipts and reportsProvide occasional clerical or administrative support for Precinct 4 events and community centersPerform physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, and safely entering/exiting the busWork in various conditions, including outdoor weather, vibration, and moderate noiseMaintain, service, and clean the bus lavatory as neededRepresent Precinct 4 professionally, assist constituents, and reinforce bus rules when necessaryParticipate in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery operationsPerform other duties as assigned to support Precinct 4 operations and service excellenceHarris County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
