As a pharmacy manager, you will lead and develop a pharmacy team that provides exceptional patient care by promoting best practices, leading through change, and identifying and addressing performance opportunities. You will support programs for awareness, onboard newly hired team members, and recognize colleagues for their success. You will consistently exhibit best practices when working the bench, including quarterbacking the team, providing patients with meaningful counseling, and complying with all legal and regulatory guidelines. Responsibilities Live our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, strengthening pharmacy performance through effective coaching and consistent follow‑up. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and using safety guardrails at every workstation. Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and coaching the team to demonstrate compassionate care, collaborate with the patient’s total healthcare team, and proactively resolve insurance and medication issues. Proactively offer and deliver immunizations, engage and support pharmacy technicians to learn to immunize. Support effective inventory management by coaching the team on inventory best practices, especially protecting cold‑chain products. Conduct new technician and pharmacist onboarding, ensuring trainees complete required training and licensure on time. Ensure pharmacy operations are compliant with state Board of Pharmacy regulations;escalate issues to the Rx DL as needed. Partner with the store manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline of cross‑trained colleagues willing to work in the pharmacy and ensure timely completion of all required training for licensure. Oversee staff pharmacists and district support pharmacists, managing performance through observation, feedback, validation, and annual reviews. Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic; delegate or oversee pharmacy schedule creation. Regularly review business reporting for operational insights and develop action plans to close gaps in workflow, service, patient care, and compliance. Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion; build psychological safety and respond to feedback. Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills and pursue opportunities to expand knowledge for patient support. Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible. Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and professional regulations, and protect patient privacy and workplace safety. Required Qualifications Active pharmacist license in the state where the store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. 1–2 years of experience as a pharmacist. Essential Functions Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe. Attention and focus, including concentrating on tasks, pivoting quickly, and ensuring prescription and label accuracy. Customer service and team orientation: proactively help people and respond to patients’ reactions. Communication skills: use verbal and written communication, active listening, asking questions, and not interrupting. Mathematical reasoning to calculate tablet counts, daily supply, and bottle requirements. Problem resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose best actions. Physical demands: mobility, lifting, reaching, fine finger movements, visual acuity, and lifting up to 20 lbs. Team management and leadership: lead by example, delegate, empower, motivate, solve problems, adapt, coach, provide feedback, enforce standards, and discipline as required. Any additional tasks as directed by supervisor or manager. Preferred Qualifications Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM-EL) program. 3–5 years of related experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Ability to work in the home store and other locations across the market as business needs arise. Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 Time Type Full time Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is $65.00 – $85.00 per hour. The actual base salary will depend on factors such as experience, education, and geography. This position may also receive a bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay.
