Purchasing AssistantCTR Group is seeking a Purchasing Assistant for an Industrial HVAC Contactor in the Newport News, VA, area. Immediate opening and urgently hiring! Pay Range: $22 - $25 per Hour plus Benefits.POSITION DUTIES:Perform forklift deliveries as requiredResearch and resolve PO missing paperworkPlaces POs and fulfills requests for quotes as needed in support of the Purchasing AgentProcess employee PPE requestsResearch and resolve missing credit card receiptsCreate item cards for new items not in systemResearch and resolve unreceived PO'sPrepare PRO tickets, UPS outbound and inbound deliveriesMaintain timely credit card receiptsPrepare tools for vendor repairStay current with unreceived PO'sClose out any open POs that should have been received by the last week of each monthProofread job numbers, quantities, item cards, etc. on POsLog any process discrepancies as neededProcess requested orders for materials via email, walk-in, phone, material request formsCreate PO/item cards as neededFollow up with vendor for receipt/delivery dateEmail request or PO#, any details pertaining to order, and anticipated delivery dateRequestor quote-provide item specification and delivery/pickup timeframeRequest purchase approval from Department HeadsAssist Purchasing Agent and Shipping/Receiving and Inventory Coordinator as neededReceive and invoice POs as neededScan and attach all purchasing/receiving/invoicing documents to POsObtains invoices from vendors as neededAssist Shipping/Receiving and Inventory Coordinator with monthly stock countsREQUIREMENTS:Experience in an industrial settingKnowledge of steel, fittings, and industrial parts preferredHigh school diploma or an equivalentAccounting experience is strongly recommended and preferredAbility to work independently and within a teamExcellent customer serviceEffective communication skillsWorking knowledge of ERP purchasing system (Microsoft Dynamics, Great Plains preferred)Ability to negotiate pricing ensuring the lowest standard costAnalytical with the ability to effectively solve problemsAbility to safely operate a forklift (training provided)Effective verbal, listening, and communication skillsAttention to detail and high level of accuracyComputer skills including spreadsheet, emails and word processing programsExperience with expense, MRO items preferredKnowledge of principles and processes for providing internal and external customer serviceCTR Group has been a leader in its industry for over 30 years and is rated highly on Google, Indeed and Facebook for being a great company to work for.
