JOB DESCRIPTION JOB OVERVIEW Job ID: L-MD-63633 Profession: Physician Specialty: Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Fort Wayne, IN Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: Oct 23, 2026 Ongoing Shifts needed to be filled: Oct 23-25 Shift/Call Schedule: TBD Call Type: Beeper Call Rotation: 1:1 Call Response Time: 20 minutes Callback: 25% Phone Consults: 5 Reason for Coverage: Vacancy Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered by Agency PAIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 8-12 Admissions: 2 Rounding: Both assigned & unassigned Phone Consults: 5 FACILITY INFORMATION EMR: Cerner Support Staff: RNs: 1:1 -3:1, PA/NPs: 2 PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Temporary Privileges Available: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES Required Ventilation Management (Invasve (ETT/NT/Tacheostom), Non-Invasive (BiPAP/CPAP)) Familiarity with use of nitric oxcide (iNO) ECMO Chest tube insertion Bronchoscopy (w/boronchia lavag (BAL) Eval. and management of acute volume/BP issues Insertion of Central lines Insertion of Arterial Insertion of PA Catheter Exchange transfusion EKG interpretation (unofficial) Temporary pacemaker ICP evaluation & mgmt ICP Monitor placement Hemodialysis catheter placement Diagnostic/therapeutic taps Lumbar puncture Paracentesis Thoracentesis Required Non-Invasive Ventilation Management (neo-puff) Ventilation Mgmt (Nebworn) (Acute, Chronic, Ped) Intubation (ETT/N) (Newborn, Pediatrics) Conscious sedation Deep sedation Central Line Arterial lines UVC, UAC Lumbar puncture Paracentesis Thoracentesis Chest tube insertion Needle pneumothorax Decompression X-ray interpretation & EKG PA Catheter Exchange transfusion Circumcision (type) Swallow studies JOB REQUIREMENS Board: BC/BE Licenses: Licensed in IN Certifications: BLS, PALS Fellowship: Required Duties & Responsibilities Provide comprehensive medical care to pediatric critical care patients Manage ventilation, hemodynamic support, and sedation Perform procedures such as central line placement, intubation, lumbar puncture Collaborate with multidisciplinary team Participate in on-call schedule
