Quality Inspector I, 2nd Shift

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION The Quality Inspector I will be responsible for performing quality assurance inspections on purchased components, manufactured sub‑assemblies, and final products in accordance with corporate policies, FDA regulations, ISO9001, ISO13485, the medical device directive, and other applicable regulatory agencies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform inspections using a variety of measuring and test equipment to determine acceptance or rejection of material or parts. Conduct first article, incoming/receiving, and in‑process inspections of materials or parts, and determine acceptance or rejection after testing. Interpret drawings, specifications, charts, procedures, and other data to establish acceptance criteria. Read and interpret sampling plans as per ANSI standards. Assist in training new associates according to the Quality System Regulations and company SOPs. Maintain accurate and current inspection and/or testing records, including Material Certifications, Inspection/Test Results, Certificates of Conformance, Rejection reports, and related documents. Assist with reviewing inspection reports and completed quality forms and logbooks. Train and work in classified clean rooms as necessary for in‑process inspections. Perform line clearances and quality reviews in manufacturing, labeling, or other assigned areas. Maintain records of all testing performed on the appropriate test records. Assist in moving and labeling non‑conforming material, customer returned material, rework, scrap, and returns to vendor. Keep QC inspection areas orderly and conducive to safe and efficient inspections. Execute other related duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned. DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma. QA experience in the medical device industry preferred. Strong organizational, self‑directed, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of ISO13485, 21CFR820 FDA QSR, and cGMP preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) preferred. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional environment. Attention to detail and strong time‑management skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing essential duties, the employee must repeatedly sit, listen, speak, and write in English; enter all company areas and clean rooms while adhering to SOPs; and may be required to lift or move up to 50 lbs. Role requires passing a visual acuity test; vision aids such as glasses or contact lenses are permitted and must be worn during visual inspections.
