Job Title: Ophthalmic Imaging SpecialistLocation: Reed Eye - Pittsford & GreeceDepartment: OphthalmologyHours Per Week: 40 Hours, Full-timeSchedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5pSUMMARYProvides advanced imaging services and acts as a primary clinical resource to Providers and Residents by performing diagnostic and imaging functions which aid in the diagnoses and management of ocular disease. Monitors and ensures that all imaging functions are completed in an accurate, efficient, and patient-centered manner within the clinical practice.RESPONSIBILITIESAble to perform OCT imaging and photography on multiple imaging modalities, including but not limited to: fundus photography, fundus auto-florescence, fluorescein and ICG angiography, anterior and posterior segment OCT, slit lamp and external photographyAbility to perform Ophthalmic Diagnostic Testing: Ocular Biometry (IOL Master), Amplitude Scan (Ascan), Corneal Topography, Corneal Pachymetry, Specular Microscopy, Humphrey Visual Field, Goldman Tonometry, Tonopen, Potential Acuity Meter (PAM), Brightness Acuity Tester (BAT), Visual Acuity, Manual and Automated LensometryContinual evaluation of imaging quality and working with teammates for improvement and processes of imagingMaintains a database of cases for education and journals for physiciansTrains established and new technicians on imaging and other diagnostic equipment.Other duties as assigned.MINIMUM EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in Photographic Sciences or related field and 1-2 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant and 2-3 years of ophthalmology experience.Certification in Optical Coherence Tomography Technician (OCT-C) and Certified Retinal Angiographer (CRA) or proof of working towards. Must obtain certifications within 24 months of hire. Obtain Certificate in Certified Ophthalmic Assistant within 12 months of hire. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
