Bankruptcy Legal Assistant

About the Opportunity A growing law firm in Downtown Orlando is seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Legal Assistant to join its team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative and fast-paced legal environment, providing critical support to attorneys and paralegals handling bankruptcy matters. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in bankruptcy law and court procedures. Key Responsibilities Paralegal Support Assist attorneys and paralegals with case management and administrative tasks related to bankruptcy matters. Help maintain organized case files and documentation throughout the bankruptcy process. Document Preparation Prepare, draft, and revise legal documents, correspondence, motions, pleadings, and bankruptcy schedules. Ensure accuracy and completeness of all documents prior to filing. Client Communication Communicate with clients to gather information and documentation needed for bankruptcy filings. Provide updates regarding case status and respond to routine inquiries. Court Filings Prepare and electronically file documents with bankruptcy courts in accordance with court rules, deadlines, and procedural requirements. Monitor filing confirmations and maintain filing records. Calendar & Deadline Management Manage attorney calendars and coordinate meetings, hearings, court appearances, and deadlines. Track important case milestones and filing dates. Data Entry & Recordkeeping Enter and maintain accurate case information within firm databases and case management systems. Organize and update electronic and physical files. Conduct legal research related to bankruptcy laws, procedures, and case precedents. Assist with due diligence and fact-gathering efforts for client matters. Prepare and respond to correspondence with clients, creditors, trustees, court personnel, and other parties involved in bankruptcy proceedings. Confidentiality Maintain strict confidentiality regarding client information and legal matters. Qualifications Required Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Legal Assistant in bankruptcy law . Experience preparing and filing bankruptcy-related legal documents. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management systems. Preferred Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and legal experience. Familiarity with bankruptcy laws, procedures, and legal terminology. Experience working in a law firm environment. Competitive salary of $55,000 - $60,000 , based on experience. Opportunity to join a stable and growing law firm.
