About this role The position is in Syracuse, NY, and will support the Carrier's central research and development as part of the Advanced Materials Engineering department. The Advanced Materials Engineering (AME) group is responsible for developing, designing, and implementing new materials technology and applications. The AME group is currently seeking a full-time intern to assist in process development, validation, and documentation. The intern will work with global, cross-disciplinary teams to baseline our process and identify streamlined opportunities. Key Responsibilities Work with Carrier teams and suppliers to identify opportunities to streamline processes Document and validate procedures and materials qualifications Primary focus: compressor lubricants, metal‑working fluids, refrigerants, and corrosion Calculate estimated cost savings associated with process improvements Required Qualifications Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field. 3.0 or higher GPA. Applicant must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident Preferred Qualifications General Chemistry Organic Chemistry Lab experience working with chemicals and processes, including basic laboratory equipment and analyses (titration, volumetric mixing, etc.) Statistics and experience with Minitab or JMP software are preferred. Excellent communication skills are needed to provide oral and written reports to internal and external customers.
