This office-based role is responsible for managing projects in accordance with the Project Management Center of Excellence standards, ensuring successful delivery through effective scheduling, cost controls, and stakeholder collaboration.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, advanced data management skills, and experience working with cross-functional teams at all organizational levels. This position does not require any physical labor, fieldwork, or use of personal protective equipment, and is best suited for candidates with utility industry experience rather than telecom fieldwork backgrounds.What You'll DoManage multiple Green I or Green II utility projects in alignment with Project Management Center of Excellence standardsDevelop, monitor, and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost controls using advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and AccessCoordinate and communicate with stakeholders across all organizational levels, from individual contributors to executive managementApply project management methodologies, including Agile, to ensure successful project delivery within the utility sectorOversee risk management, project leadership, and foster strong collaboration among cross-functional teamsPrepare, present, and maintain comprehensive project reports, documentation, and updates for leadership and stakeholdersUtilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to interpret complex data and resolve project issues efficientlyEnsure compliance with industry standards, utility regulations, and company policies throughout all project phasesLeverage knowledge of construction management and utility business unit operations as requiredMaintain advanced data management practices using Microsoft Excel and AccessWhat You Bring5-9 years of project management experience, preferably in the utility industry (power distribution, transmission, etc.)Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or universityProficiency in project management principles, scheduling, and cost controlsIntermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data management; experience with Microsoft Access is a plusCritical thinking skills and the ability to interpret and analyze complex Excel documentsExperience in construction management and utility business unit operations (regulated or commercial energy services)Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all organizational levelsDemonstrated expertise in decision making, problem solving, risk management, and project leadershipProven ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teamsPreferred: Master's degree (MBA, project management, or equivalent)Preferred: Utility technical certifications/training, PMP or CAPM certification, CMII/construction certifications, or Professional Engineer LicensePreferred: Agile project management experience in the utility industryWhat's In It For YouOpportunity to manage impactful projects in the utility industryCollaborative, office-based work environment with no fieldwork or physical labor requiredEngagement with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadershipCompetitive hourly compensationPotential for professional growth and advancement through exposure to complex utility projects
