Position: The primary role of the nurse is to provide nursing assessments and follow up care along with coordinated recommendations to all clients and communicate results to the client and when necessary, appropriate staff.

Duty Description :

Under the direction of the Medical Director, the registered/license nurse serves as an integral part of the treatment team, assessing consumer mental health, substance abuse and medical health status. The RN/LPN will identify consumer problems and needs, develop and implement treatment plans, and maintain clinical records. The Nurse will provide medical care to consumers per orders from the Medical Director and may advise consumers on health maintenance and illness prevention strategies. The RN/LPN may also serve as a Nursing Administrator and supervise work of other RN/LPN

Job Task:

1. – Consult and coordinate with the Medical Director and other clinical staff members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate consumer treatment plans.

2. – Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in consumer’s conditions.

3. – Direct and supervise less skilled nursing/health care personnel, or serve as a team leader supervising a multidisciplinary team.

4. – Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess consumer’s condition.

5. – Perform physical examinations, make tentative diagnoses, and treat consumers receiving Ambulatory Detox or Crisis services.

6.– Instruct individuals, families and other groups on topics such as health education, prevention and recovery, and develop health improvement programs.

7. – Adheres to the policies of the Organization – Confidentiality, Safety, State Regulations, Personnel Policies, and Accreditation Standards.

8. – Develops sound working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and outside parties.

9. – Develops and maintains healthy client relations skills.

10. – Has a positive attitude towards the organization, and supports its goals and objectives.

11. – Has excellent attendance and no tardiness.

12. – Promotes program refinement, understands client/public needs, and effectively participates in all staff meetings.

13. – Represents the organization with a positive image, and attends required meetings and

presentations.

14. – Attends and participates in required training sessions.

15. – Ensures all records (i.e.; client, personnel, quality improvement, fiscal, etc) are

properly maintained.

16. – Analyzes problems, evaluates facts, reaches sound conclusions, and takes corrective

action with the appropriate parties.

17. – Effectively engages clients in the treatment process.

18. – Promotes teamwork within the assigned unit.
