Network Engineer

I am working with a leading prop trading firm looking for a Network Engineer to help design, support, and enhance their low‑latency trading infrastructure. The successful candidate will be a hands‑on engineer who thrives on solving complex networking and security challenges, including multicast routing, latency tuning, and automation. Key Responsibilities Provide critical thinking and troubleshooting for complex issues in a 24/7, mission‑critical network environment. Design, implement, and support network and security monitoring tools to detect anomalies, threats, and performance issues. Automate manual processes within the network infrastructure to improve efficiency and consistency. Participate in on‑call rotations and occasional weekend maintenance work. Collaborate closely with traders, developers, and operations teams to ensure high availability and performance across all systems. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Layer 2/3 protocols, BGP, OSPF, multicast, QoS, and latency tuning. Familiarity with network security concepts, monitoring, and incident response. Exposure to automation and scripting (Python preferred). Excellent communication and documentation skills – able to clearly explain complex technical issues to non‑technical audiences. Highly organized, analytical, and detail‑oriented; capable of thriving independently and within a collaborative team environment.
